Legislative Activity
On September 24, 2021, the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office did not have to turn over records about a fatal shooting by a deputy because they were part of a criminal investigation about the deputy. Alabama's laws do not consider such investigative information to be part of the public record.[1]
