2023 Medal of Commendation
On September 18, 2023, Marquette received the department's Medal of Commendation "for optimizing the operation of equipment that enhances the safety and quality of life for our residents".[3] Marquette used a drone to help "capture multiple fleeing suspects" and "quickly locate an emotionally disturbed woman".[4]

On December 12, 2023, Perkins' family filed a lawsuit against the city, the officers, the towing company, and the bank.[6]
On January 5, 2024, a jury indicted Marquette for murder.[7]
