2022 Death of John Farally
On August 17, 2022, Strini was off-duty when he rear-ended a vehicle that was stopped at a red light.[3]
The investigating officer saw no evidence to suggest that Strini was impaired and did not test his breath or blood.[3]
On August 18, 2022, Farally, the driver of the other vehicle, died at the hospital.[4]

On August 24, 2022, Strini returned to active duty.[3]
In May 2023, Strini was given traffic citations, including careless and reckless driving, driving at an unsafe speed, and violating the maximum speed limit.[1]
The Westmoreland County District Attorney did not bring criminal charges, claiming that "the evidence surrounding this accident would not support a charge of homicide by vehicle".[1]
