2022-2023 Menacing

Between August 2022 and October 2023, Carles sent inappropriate texts to a 17-year-old girl.

A friend of the girl told school administrators about a photo that Carlos had sent the girl. Administrators contacted the girl's guardian.

On October 17, 2023, the girl's guardian reported the messages to the department.

Response Timeline

On October 19, 2023, Carles was placed on paid administrative leave.

In February 2024, Carles resigned.

On March 7, 2024, Licking County prosecutors charged Carles with one count of menacing by stalking "with sexual motivation" and three counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, all misdemeanors.

On April 11, 2024, Carles pleaded not guilty.[5]
