2020 Interference with Law Enforcement

On September 14, 2020, Mattice called 911 to report that his ex-wife had used her vehicle in a domestic assault on him. Mattice described the incident as if he had been dragged by the vehicle.[4]

Response Timeline

Investigators contacted Mattice's ex-wife, who had a video recording of the incident. The video showed Mattice blocking the door and the ex-wife driving away slowly. The investigator determined that Mattice had lied in an attempt to get charges filed against his ex-wife.[4]

Mattice was charged with one count of interference with law enforcement.[4]

On February 9, 2021, Mattice pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in exchange for the interference charge being dropped.[4][6]

On August 16, 2023, the Kansas Commission on Peace Officers' Standards and Training (POST) revoked Mattice's certification for criminal conduct and a lack of good moral character.[4]
