2016 DUI

In February 2016, Vacaville officers responded to a call of a drunk driver. Officers located McDonough, who was off-duty, and was driving 80-100mph in a 40mph zone.[1]

McDonough failed a field sobriety test and a Breathalyzer test.[1]

Response Timeline

McDonough pleaded no contest to misdemeanor driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of 0.16 percent.[1]

McDonough was sentenced to two days in jail, participation in a DUI program, and payment of a fine.[1]

The department's investigation determined that McDonough had violated policies by breaking the law and engaging in “unbecoming” conduct. McDonough was initially suspended for 80 hours, which was reduced to 40 hours.[1]

2017 Death of Jeffrey Barboa

Response Timeline

In March 2018, a jury empaneled for the coroner's inquest hearing ruled that the death was a suicide. ‎

2024 Possible Intoxication

On March 18, 2024, Cotati California Police Department Officer Michael Iturbe and Sergeant Tyler Wardle responded to a report of a "suspicious" vehicle and located McDonough next to her parked, unmarked police vehicle.[1]

On-duty Vallejo officers Mark Thompson and Brad Kim drove to Cotati and picked McDonough up, which was described as a "safe ride home".[1]
