2021 Assault
On September 3, 2021, Ralph was investigating a shoplifting incident when the suspect spit in his face. Ralph placed his hands around the woman's throat. A sergeant intervened.[3]
Response Timeline
On September 15, 2021, Ralph was arrested and charged with felony second degree assault.[4]
Ralph was placed on administrative leave.[3]
On February 10, 2023, a jury found Ralph not guilty of third-degree assault and attempted third-degree assault.[3]
The department will investigate to determine if any administrative action is warranted.[3]
