On May 6, 2021, Aguirre was responding to a call when she ran a red light and struck another vehicle, seriously injuring the driver, Justyce Chavez.[3][4]
Response Timeline
Chavez filed a lawsuit against the City and Aguirre.[4]
On January 30, 2023, a lawyer defending the city stated, "Aguirre's negligence caused [the] collision".[4]
On February 10, 2023, Aguirre was charged with misdemeanor reckless driving causing injury.[4]
