An internal investigation determined that Marcum did not violate the department's policy.[3]
In January 2019, Tyus' family sued the driver of the vehicle, the department, and Marcum.[3]
The County Attorney's Office, which represented Marcum, argued that Marcum was protected by qualified immunity because his actions were not a substantial factor in causing the crash.[3]
