2021 Sexual Assault
On January 23, 2021, Thompson sexually assaulted a woman who was "unconscious and incapable of consent" in a private home.[3][1]
The incident was captured on the house's surveillance system.[3]
Response Timeline
On October 4, 2021, Thompson was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, and third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact.[1]
On October 4, 2021, Thompson was suspended without pay.[1]
On May 18, 2022, Thompson pleaded guilty to attempted sexual assault and was sentenced to four years in state prison. Thompson forfeited his job, will be registered as a sex offender, and will be prohibited from future public employment.[2]
