In mid-July 2022, Martinez choked a woman and restricted her airway.[1]
Response Timeline
On July 19, 2022, Martinez was arrested and charged with Assault-Family-Choking/Strangulation, a third-degree felony.[1]
Martinez was placed on administrative leave.[1]
The department started the process to fire Martinez.[1]
On December 5, 2023, the criminal case was closed as prosecution was waived.[3]
