2020 Unlawful Photography
It was discovered that Garrett had been taking pictures and videos of his stepdaughter while she was naked.[3] The incident was reported to the FBI.[1]
Response Timeline
On June 2, 2020, the FBI contacted the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security.[1]
On June 19, Garrett admitted to investigators that he had recorded the victim while she was in the shower.[1]
An order of protection was issued.[1]
On June 28, 2020, Garrett violated the order of protection and was arrested.[1]
On July 2, 2020, Garrett was fired.[1]
On February 7, 2022, Garrett was charged with unlawful photographing of an individual in violation of privacy and invasion of privacy.[4]
On October 12, 2023, a jury convicted Garrett of unlawful photographing of an individual in violation of privacy and observation without consent.[5]
On March 1, 2024, Garrett was sentenced to less than one year.[3]
