2021 Personal Contact

On June 18, 2021, Bruno responded to a disturbance reported by a woman. Bruno's body-worn camera recorded him asking, "What is your name, beautiful". After leaving the call, Bruno sent a dozen text messages to the woman over the following two hours, continuing to compliment her appearance and asking if the woman was married. The woman replied to some messages, but stopped and reported Bruno's behavior after becoming "uncomfortable".[1]

Response Timeline

The department issued a "no contact" order, forbidding Bruno from contacting the woman again. [1]

Bruno was suspended for 30 days, which was reduced to 20 days on appeal.[1]

2023 False Report

In November 2023, Bruno sold his car to another person who agreed to pay later.[2]

On December 21, 2023, Bruno reported that his car had been stolen without disclosing the earlier arrangement.[2]

Response Timeline

Investigators found that Bruno had accessed police records for personal reasons.[2]

Bruno was suspended for 45 days for filing a false report and accessing police records.[2]
