2023 Federal Investigation
The State Police and the Department of Homeland Security raided the police department. Berger's police cruiser and cell phone were seized.[3]

2024 Sexual Assault
This incident occurred after Berger's separation from the agency.
Berger was a patient at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. In January 2024, Berger was hired by the facility as a Behavioral Health Technician.[4]
On April 29, 2024, Berger sexually assaulted a patient at the facility.[4]

On May 3, 2024, Berger was arrested on charges including aggravated indecent assault without consent, institutional sexual assault, and indecent assault forcible compulsion.[5]
