2022 Child Molestation
On April 15, 2022, Gilbert encouraged an 11-year-old girl to touch him inappropriately while at his home.[1]
A student reported to their teacher Gilbert "made her sister do something 'nasty'".[2]

On April 21, 2022, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation began a review of the allegations.[1]
On April 22, 2022, Gilbert was arrested and charged with child molestation and violation of oath by a public officer.[1][3]
Gilbert was fired after an internal investigation.[1]
On November 27, 2023, Gilbert pleaded guilty to two counts of child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, and violation of oath by a public officer. Gilbert was sentenced to 60 years in prison.[2]
