2018 Bribery
Jensen arranged for a private security firm to donate $90,000 to the Sheriff's re-election campaign in exchange for concealed weapon permits for their employees.[2]
In October 2018, $45,000 was donated.[2]
On August 2019, as another $45,000 was about to be donated, the District Attorney served a search warrant on the sheriff's office.[2]
Response Timeline
On July 17, 2024, a jury found Jensen guilty of felony bribery and conspiracy. Jensen faces up to four years in state prison.
2019 Bribery
Sung withheld four concealed weapons permits for a private company's security team until the company donated about $75,000 worth of computer equipment to the Sheriff's Office. Jensen was involved in the bribe.[3]
Response Timeline
On November 23, 2020, a jury indicted Jensen, Undersheriff Rick Sung, and two civilians.[3]
