2022 Obstruction of Justice

On August 26, 2022, Davis found Deputy Carlos Lopez, who had crashed his patrol vehicle while driving under the influence. Davis pulled Lopez from the vehicle, and arranged for Lopez's wife to drive him home in another vehicle.[1]

Response Timeline

Davis was charged with felony conspiracy to obstruct justice, a misdemeanor count of giving false information to police, and three misdemeanor counts of obstructing an investigation.[1]

On August 22, 2023, Davis was relieved of duty.[1]

On January 22, 2023, David pleaded not guilty.[2]
