2021 Road Rage Incident
On July 24, 2021, while off-duty, Brown's vehicle and another nearly collided, leading to a road rage incident that included a roadside fight. According to the District Attorney, Brown identified himself as a police officer, and punched the other vehicle's passenger without provocation, knocking her to the ground. When she attempted to stand back up, Brown punched her again. Both drivers had children in their cars.[4]
Video was provided from multiple witnesses, but the District Attorney is not planning to release any footage.[4]
Response Timeline
In the summer of 2021, Brown was placed on administrative leave.[3]
On October 27, 2021, the District Attorney charged Brown with felony assault under the color of authority, misdemeanor battery, and misdemeanor child endangerment.[4]
