Incident Reports

2021 Incorrect Citation

Harris issued a speeding ticket, but recorded the wrong driver's license number. When the ticket went unpaid, the incorrect woman's license was suspended.[1]

Response Timeline

The department performed a "supervisory investigation".[1]

2022 Animal Cruelty

On August 21, 2022, Harris and his girlfriend got into an argument about their cats. The next day, the girlfriend found one cat had been injured. The cat died of injuries received from blunt force trauma.

The veterinarian contacted police. Harris was interviewed, and denied any wrongdoing.[1]

Response Timeline

On August 31, 2022, Harris was arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty. The arresting agency did not release Harris' mugshot due to a state law that prevents disclosing information that could identify law enforcement officers.[1]

After the arrest, Harris was fired from the department.[2]
