Response Timeline
On September 5, 2018, Edwards filed a federal lawsuit, alleging that the officers used excessive force.[5][6]
On October 20, 2020, the lawsuit was settled for $750,000.[1][7] The city will pay the first $500,000, with the rest being covered by insurance.[8]
2018 Arrest of Michael Sanz
On October 22, 2019, Sanzs filed a lawsuit against the city, Officer Mark Thompson, Officer Jason Bauer, Wagoner, and others, claiming the use of excessive force.[9]
2020 Death of Sean Monterrosa
Wagoner was driving the police vehicle from which Monterrosa was shot and killed.[1]
