Incident Reports

2018 Arrest of Cameryn Standifer

On August 1, 2018, police responded to a home after multiple complaints of illegal activity. Officers were given permission to enter the house, and identified the occupants. Standifer had an outstanding warrant for an unpaid traffic ticket. Harmon started to handcuff Standifer, and then threw him to the ground.[3]

The incident was captured by an officer's body-worn camera.[3]

Response Timeline

In September 2019, Standifer filed a lawsuit against the city, Harmon and several other officers, the county, and several jail employees.[3]

On November 17, 2022, testimony in the trial ended, and the jury began deliberations.[3]

On November 18, 2022, the city settled the lawsuit for $440,000.[3]
