2022 Disorderly Conduct Arrest

Between December 29, 2021 and January 24, 2022, Lamas sent sexually explicit photos and videos of his wife to others without her consent.[2]

On January 30, 2022, Lamas' wife - who is also an LAPD officer - found the images in a group chat app on his phone. Lamas had shared the images with fellow officers and others.[2]

Response Timeline

In January 2022, Lamas was placed on home assignment, pending an investigation.[2]

On December 15, 2022, Lamas was charged with six counts of misdemeanor disorderly conduct.[3]

On February 28, 2024, Lamas pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count of distributing a private image to cause emotional distress; the other charges were dropped.[4]

On March 15, 2024, Lamas was sentenced to probation, must attend counseling, and must surrender his certification.[4]
