2023 Stalking of Dawn Silva
Labrada placed a tracking device in the vehicle of Officer Silva, with whom he was romantically involved.[3]
On September 7, 2023, the other officer reported the device to the Ontario California Police Department.[3]
Response Timeline
On September 19, 2023, Labrada was placed on administrative leave.[3]
On October 9, 2023, Labrada was demoted to Commander.[2]
On October 11, 2023, the count District Attorney announced that they did not have enough evidence to criminally charge Labrada.[2]
Silva sued the department, claiming that they did not protect her from Labrada after she reported the incident.[6]
On July 15, 2024, a disciplinary board found Labrada guilty of lying to internal affairs detectives, attempting to persuade a witness not to testify, and other charges.
On July 15, 2024, Labrada retired, effective July 1, 2024.[4]
