2021 Arrest of Takeshia Landry

On November 10, 2021, Sparano stopped Landry for making an illegal turn. Landry repeatedly refused to provide her license and registration, and refused to exit the vehicle. Sparano attempted to remove Landry from the vehicle, but she began to drive away. Sparano fired one round at the vehicle.[2]

The incident was captured on Sparano's body-worn camera and Landry's cell phone.[2]

After a chase, Landry was taken into custody and charged with firearms not to be carried without a license, recklessly endangering another person, flight to avoid apprehension, fleeing and eluding, and other charges.[2]

Response Timeline

Chester County detectives investigated and found the shooting to not be justified based on state law.[2]

On December 16, 2021, Sparano was arrested and charged with misdemeanor recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, and propulsion of missiles into an occupied vehicle.[2]

On February 2, 2024, a jury found Sparano guilty of recklessly endangering another person and of propulsion of missiles into an occupied vehicle.[3]
