2018 Attempted Entry

In 2018, Bryant was accused of trying to enter a neighbor's house through a window.[2]

Response Timeline

Bryant denied the allegation.[2]

The neighbor chose not to press charges.[2]

2019 Burglary

Bryant tampered with a bedroom window lock and entered the home of a classmate.[3]

The incident was captured on video.[3]

The homeowner filed a report with the police department.[3]

On March 1, 2023, Bryant was charged with first-degree burglary.[3]

2021 Suspension

In November 2021, Bryant was off-duty when he made a gun shape with his hand and pointed it at an on-duty officer. Bryant told the officer to, "keep your head on a swivel".[4]

2022 Death of Susana Morales

On July 26, 2022, 16-year-old Susana Morales went missing.[1]

On July 27 2022, Bryant reported that his vehicle had been broken into and that his gun had been stolen.[2][1]

On February 6, 2023, Morales' remains were located.[1]

It was alleged that Bryant dumped Morales' body in the woods.[1]

Response Timeline

On February 13, 2023, Bryant was charged with concealing the death of another and false reporting of a crime. Police suspect Bryant of rape, murder, and other felonies.[1]

In February, Bryant was fired.[5]

On February 22, 2023, Bryant was charged with felony murder and kidnapping. The gun that Bryant had reported stolen was found "in close proximity" to Morales' remains.[2]

In March 2023, a grand jury indicted Bryant on malice murder, felony murder, kidnapping, and false report of a crime. [5] Malice murder is Georgia's most serious murder charge and Bryant faces up to life in prison or the death penalty.[6]

On January 10, 2024, Bryant was re-indicted to include the charge of criminal attempt to commit rape.[7]

On June 12, 2024, a jury convicted Bryant of malice murder, felony murder, kidnapping, and false report of a crime. Bryant was acquitted on a charge of criminal attempt to commit rape. Bryant was sentenced to life without parole.[8]

2022 Policy Violation

On October 2, 2022, Bryant was dispatched to a report of a runaway child. Bryant did not finish the report for three days.[4]

Federal law requires a report to be finished within two hours in such a case.[4]
