2023 Death of Robert Boozer
On September 4, 2023, deputies responded to a call of a man who had stabbed his father. Deputies located Boozer, who was holding a large knife. Boozer ignored the deputies' commands to drop the knife. When Boozer charged at the deputies, Olivares fired, striking Boozer.[2]
Deputies rendered aid until paramedics arrived. Boozer was pronounced dead at the scene.[2]
The incident was captured on Olivares' body worn camera and 911 audio.
